Morning, Beautiful Morning

Morning comes and the sun slowly rises against my bedroom window. One would think that the sun would be refreshing, and in the winter time, it is. However, it's quite difficult for me to sleep through the bright rays pouring through my blinds during any time of year, and I usually find myself woken up early.

In the four years that I've lived in this apartment, I'm sure that I've told myself a hundred times to get new blinds. The fact of the matter is, however, that I have never done so.

There is unfortunately another negative to the morning light in the summer time. This is warmth. Although the cool evenings make getting to sleep much easier (although since when did I ever go to bed before the sun goes down?), when morning arrives, the room heats up like a dutch oven, and I can't help but feel cooked to a tender point whenever I wake up.

This has a negative effect on my ears and mouth especially. As someone who sleeps in outrageous positions and snores noisily with her mouth open, I tend to dry out at the drop of a hat, and by the time I wake up (especially on a late Sunday morning), I have been thoroughly tenderized both on the inside of my body and the out.

The point of this? Simple. I really need to get new blinds.
